I zeroed out the hard drive and reinstalled my software.
I ran Norton and Disk Warrior. Zapped etc.
But my 520c is still having serious sleep issues. It
won't fully wake up. I'll hear the hard drive spin up
and then I may get most of the screen back. But the
mouse never actually becomes active.
I found this:
O'Grady's PowerPage - PowerBook 500
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/tenchi/500.html#Trouble-Shooters
PB wont sleep/freeze on wake/crash on sleep (NOTE, problem with 7.6.1)! First
check all your extensions! Start with no extension (Shift
Key held on startup), then try sleeping. Apple once mentioned a software patch
to fix it, but I have never seen a patch itself. Bottom line, 99% of all these
problems is extension and/or control panels. Only if crash continues with no
extensions is an OS or hardware problem the cause. This may be the trickest
problem to fix. Try running a newer version of the OS. I have noticed that any
number of things could cuase the problem, even a simple as a CD-ROM or ZIP
disk not in the SCSI drive.

But even with extensions off I'm experiencing the same problem. Anyone know
anything about the Apple software patch mentioned above?
I'm running 8.1 and the Powerbook Control Panel is version 7.6.1
My hard drive is rather full. Could that be it?

Thanks!
