I just got a "new" 3400 and came upon a problem while checking it out with
Norton. Drive Setup and TechTool: They get about 2/3 through the check and
either stop checking or they buzz intermittently and stop checking.

Having just replaced a buzzing hard drive on another 3400, I'm not looking
forward to repeating the process. Could something have happened to it in
shipping? The seller said he did a low level format before sending it. Could
that have caused a problem?
