Hiya Mati,

I don't know where you are located in the world, but what you need is a
7.5 Volts DC supply capable of putting out 3 Amps, filtered and regulated.

The ideal source is an old 100 series power adaptor ( 100, 140, 150 etc ),
but any power supply that meets the specifications above will work. It will
minimally charge your battery, which is obviously exhausted, and the machine
will run. It would be ideal if you could replace the cells in your battery
as well, so it charges properly. A charged-up battery actually "buffers" the
input power, acting as a filter to maintain level voltage.

Remember, a transformer alone is not enough: the output must then be regulated
and filtered, before going to the Powerbook.

If you have access to 6-volt car batteries, and can keep them charged up, they
will work. I don't know where you are, but that me be an option you haven't
considered. Let us know how you make out.
