The problem I share with Donna is that the PB 5xx needs PCMCIA extensions to recognize its removable PCMCIA cage--with all extensions off, you can't use the cage, much less reformat the CF card. Like Donna, I've got a CF card, but my PB won't recognize it at all, so I can't reformat it. The card does work in my camera, though.
