I have a PB 1400 running OS-8.6. I recently switched my PCMCIA ethernet card from an Asante FriendlyNet to a Farallon LAN/Modem card. I installed the software for the Farallon card and removed the Asante software.
My problem is that the AppleTalk settings for the card keep shifting to Modem/Printer port from Alternate Ethernet. When I try to switch back I get an error message that it can't be done due to an error, check network connections. Usually 3-4 restarts later this problem is corrected and I can switch back. I've done the usual fixes, DiskWarrior, TechTool pro v3.04, Norton, a clean reinstall the OS, upgrade to OS-9. Nothing works, and the problem seems intermittent. sometimes the settings are lost after sleep, sometimes not. Does anybody know what's up? Has anybody had a similar problem? does anybody use the Farallon card? TIA for any help, John _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
