There are several things that can help sleep problems you can try throwing 
away the various prefs involved (Powerbook, Energy Saver, etc depending on 
version) as well as zapping pram and resetting power manager I have a Duo 
that was doing the exact opposite it wouldn't stay asleep and zapping the 
PRAM ultimately fixed it.
