For compatability with the Real World, it's hard to beat Word 5.1.
Although you can't read Word98 or higher documents easily well as the
convertor plugin (or standalone convertor, I forget all the options out
there for conversions) needs more than a vanilla 68000.

Other than that, I ran it nicely on my pb100 with 4 megs RAM, it should do
fine on the 170.  People could read my output just fine.
