Considering the price of an active LCD, you'll probably be better off selling

Complete 540cs can be had for $50, give or take.

I love the machine to death, but 40 MB (68040 mode, with 32 MB RAM upgrade
card) or 32 MB (PPC 603 mode, with zero MB on the 167 MHz NewerTech, but with
the 32 MB RAM upgrade card) isn't much RAM.

As a correction to my previous post ...

When performing a screen swap, the display cable itself must go with the
display.

These cable are the same on the non-TFT displays, such as those in the 520,
520c and 540, but are different on the TFT displays, such as those in the
540c (and by extension the 550).

To avoid problems, retain the cable with the display, even though Apple's
repair manual says this is only required on the 540c (the same manual is mute
on the Japan-only 550, IIRC).
