Should work...the trick is formatting the card as a Mac volume.

Basically:

Turn off PC Exchange, reboot.

Insert card, Mac will say 'This disk is unreadable, do you want to 
format?' say yes.

Note: In order to use this as a camera card again, you will have to 
format the card in your camera.

Now you specify this new disk as the place to put your VM cache.
