You can transfer to Palm via IrDA but AFAIK the 1400 doesn't support 
it.  I just set it up (you have to install a few files on the Palm, 
at least on my Palm) and it works fairly well.  It's kind of weird 
having to get to the HotSync app in Palm, starting the hot sync 
process and then turning the Palm around and putting it behind the 
laptop.
