1. System 9 size: I have a powerbook 3400c 200mhz and 80 mb ram. System 9.1 is newly installed and it takes only 16 mb of ram at start up. I think that is because now it is has very few programs loaded.
2. I bought a 1.0 g VST expansion bay hard drive on ebay, advertised for the 190, 5300, 3400 and Kanga. When I inserted it in the 3400 expansion bay, the computer tried to start from it and froze, the message was it could not start up from this disk. I had to unplug the machine to stop the process of restart and freeze. When I put this same VST hard drive into the 5300 it showed up on the desktop and when opened the drive has system 7.5.3 revision 2 loaded. Is that too old for the 3400 to start up from? If so, can I just put the VST hard drive into the 5300 and drag that computer's system 8.6 folder over to it? -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
