Dear List,

Recently, I was given a PB 5300cs. It starts up with a weak
sounding chime, and, although I can hear the HD clicking, apparently
its booting up, but all that the screen displays is a dim blue
screen. When I connect it up to an external monitor, I still get a
blue screen only a little brighter. I opened it up hoping to find the
video card unseated and I would reseat it and I would be in business
but alas I got as far as exposing the RAM and I was stymied. I
couldn't figure out how to expose the rest.

What I need is some ideas about what might be the problem
with the dull blue screen, and, is it worth trying to fish out the
video card to see if its messed up. If the latter is true, is there
someplace where I could get simple instructions on how to do this?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Robert R.
