I have OS 9.1 on my 3400 and it's fine. It's been very stable. Check
your apps and make sure you're not going to break anything going to OS 9
but otherwise you might as well.

I would reformat using Extended since you're right there anyway.

Subject: Rebuild 3400c - 8.6 or 9?

Friends -

Have a 3400c which has provided years of good service.
Figure I'll wipe the disk and reinstall the OS and
get a fresh start.

OS 8.6 was very stable but I thought I'd ask if the
jump to OS 9 was worth the trouble. I've lurked on
this list and I know that some people think it's
much slower than OS 8.6

If I do decide to initialize and go to 9, should
I reformat as standard Apple partition or go to
the extended format?

Suggestions and experiences welcome!
