...not that anyone cares, but....

Today I completed a fix-it job on my 540c, and I thought I would share...

I do not remember who exactly came up w/ this modification to cure the
cheapy-flimsy plastic screw moldings in the 5xx series' screen assembly, but
it involves drilling and putting in a tiny lil' bolt all the way thru the
hinge & housing on each side.

I do know whomever invented this procedure has a webcite describing the
procedure... oh, y'all all probably know who it is..!!!

Anyway, I completed the entire procedure this afternoon in about an hour (not
counting a trip to Lowe's for some wee washers, nuts+bolts) and I must say
that it works! Very sturdy and rigid assembly now!

I can even overlook the rather "Frankenstein" look of my laptop now (w/ the 2
bolts coming out of the rear of the lid), now that it will open and close w/o
me having to treat it like fine chine'r....
