I have installed the OS 8.6 on a 3400 straight from the OS
installdisk that was not a specific powerbookversion. I have also
several times partitioned and lowlevelformatted hd*s on the 3400,
someone said here that this would destroy the disk forever, but that
never happened to me, I wonder why aren't you allowed to do that ?
and how else can you partition ? or fix root problems IF you are not
allowed to lowlevelformat? once the files/roots are corrupted you
have to throw the disk away. No?
