I'm trying to get my friend's Duo 280c on the internet.

I installed the telecom software, and set everything up exactly the way
it is on my Duo 280 which gets online successfully.

But it wouldn't connect - i just heard a fuzzy sound coming out of the
speaker but thats it.

So took it apart and found that the modem is different than the one in
the Duo 280 - its a Global Village Powerport Mercury, while my Duo 280
has a Geoport Express.

I don't know which modem to choose. I downloaded the software from
Global Village for the modem, put the modem script into the modem scripts
folder, but when I select That modem it gives me an error when I try to
connect through PPP.

"The modem file found a variable string value that it could not handle.
(-6027)"

I have OpenTransport 1.1.2 installed and PPP 1.0.
