It was bound to happen. I'd been in and out of the PB so many times (trying to work out why the bloody Lapis card was causing it to crash, swapping hard drives, memory etc), that I got complacent.
Last night, I was performing what I thought would be my final swap on the machine, when it all went a bit odd.
The power board started whisling when the battery was plugged in, the power light on top of the screen comes on, but it won't switch on at all....... I managed to get it on once, but just got a 'sad mac' (codes were lots of zeros with an F on the end, and lots of zeros with a 1 on the end).
I'm figuring that I've either blown the powerboard or main board. Argh!
Just as it all seemed to be coming together, too :-(
Any ideas? - I suppose I'm now looking for a 5300 with dead screen / drive etc to scrap for parts.
