the beauty of tabs is that you don't have 400 windows open. Floating around, each one smaller than the last, having to move them around to get to the one underneath (unless you use the window menu).
Tabs are very handy. Kind of like IE Mac's placeholder only much more efficient and better laid out. For those with NS 6+ issue. Trash your Netscape preferences and try again. That clears up 90% of the hanging issue. Also, the download and redraw issue from 4.x version is due to divs/layers. Any real html programmer would have added code to prevent it (Dreamweaver even adds it by default when you insert a layer). 6 & 7+ are vastly different beasts among themselves let alone a complete re-write of the 4.x codebase. 7 is Mozilla 1.0 based. Very fast pageloads, very fast response. Mozilla 1.4rc1 is even faster. 1.5 will challenge Safari in speed as well. If all you do is surf pages, use IE. It is sufficient.
