Hi, I've used both MacWrite Pro and Claris for word processing for years. When I wanted to transfer files to a PC, I simply saved as RTF or Microsoft Word 4.0 to the desktop, then dragged the file to the PC formatted floppy disk icon, and voila, no problem, always had an almost perfect identical file when I opened it on PC.
Recently, this hasn't worked. When I do it, or save directly to floppy, I get the error notice "the file could not be written because a disk error occurred" or if it appears to copy correctly, when I open it in word on the 2 PC's I have, I get computer garbage text. I've used brand new floppies and checked the disks on 2 different computers but nothing works. Does anyone know what the problem might be and how I could solve it? I love the Powerbook and want to keep using it for word processing, but can't unless I can transfer files to PC. Thanks! Mary -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
