Desktop Picture

Hi.  I have a Duo 280 upgraded to a 280c screen.  I have it running 
OS 7.5.1 with 24MB RAM. I try to make a desktop picture with Desktop 
patterns but it always makes my 640x480 PICT picture into a pattern. 
I have GraphicConverter for 68k on it also.  Is there any way to make 
one whole desktop picture in OS 7.5.1?
