I've always had success by holding down the shift key and then emptying the trash. Have you tried that?

Hi!

It finally happened to me.
After years of using Macs, I finally got the "Rescued Items from Hard Disk" folder that can't be erased
It always gives a window with "Items in use", even when I started from another disk..
I tried the "Mac Secrets" trick of renaming, etc., but I can't erase the renamed folder, so I'm back in square one.
Is there a way (ResEdit, etc.) to change something in the folder's deep bowels, so it can be erased?
Best regards.
