USB capture device problem

bought this device from tiger direct 3 dsys ago and have had the worst 
time trying to configure it to my laptop computer.

Specs:

*Macintosh PowerBook G3[wallstreet]
*233MHZ processor; 384MB Ram
*USB 2.0 CardBus Adapter
*Mac OS 10.2
I have installed the USBlive Software, as well as the canon 
software[impression video capture] but when I try to capture a clip it 
records, saves to document folder as an quicktime file but when
I try to play the file, it's just a blank screen. The same is true 
during the capture.

Can you help?

also, sometimes I get this error message: /

"the preview window could not be created because a video channel could 
not be opened. Please make sure that USBlive for mac OS X is inistalled 
properly."
