Below is a common error I get when I check my Powerbook 1400cs, or the Zip drive attached to it. Usually, it goes away after running Norton Utilities two or three times. But lately, I can't seem to get rid of it on my Zip drive. What does the error really mean is going on, and is there a fix, a hack or whatever to make it go away? I have tried trashing Finder Preferences, reformating (it comes back after a crash), changing views of the disk, trqashing the desktop files and rebuilding the desktop.

An error was found in a directory record in the catalog b-tree.
The disk "Work Disk" has incorrect Finder settings that may be interfering with the normal operations of your disk. (node 4) (5,7,19)
Node #4, Record Offset 1
The leaf directory record was fixed.

If it was fixed, why does the same message appear ten times in a row? How do I
correct" the incorrect Finder settings?
