It is odd. I did a clean install of 8.5 which didn't have any trouble rebooting, and I fired up Civilization 1 just to test. Seemed to work, but starting Civilization 1 by double-clicking a save game brought on a hard lock, which it also did under 8.6. Go figure. (Fwiw, I also somehow have color now in Civ 1, which I haven't had in years, having lost the color data disc. It really is a twilight zone episode by now, though the unhappy
Civ 1 locks up the computer, hard, when run on my 9.1 Sonnet G3/400. I asked about it a while back but no one replied; I never found a way to be able to run it.
