I'm sure you can get your hands on an old ADB printer for cheap on ebay or the swap list, or, yes, you can ehternet it to your iMac. I run OS 9 on my 1400, and it works flawlessly, but I don't know how easy it is with earlier OS's. perhaps you may have to boot up in Classic if your iMac is on OS X.
