I don't think so, unfortunately. I ran into the same problem a while back, when Powermax was selling the Kanga batteries at $19 (they were in great shape) and I ordered 3 plus the VST charger. But the charger never worked with the batteries. Just got a red light all the time. The original batteries from my 3400 charged fine in it. And the Kanga batteries charged fine inside the 3400.
