Thanks for the suggestions, but I've had no luck so far finding a 
solution for the new Sanyo, which is an 8100. I've found USB cables, 
but no serial. So I haven't even pursued workable modem scripts yet.

Still looking, though. Please keep your eyes/ears open for a solution 
if one comes your way! (Any experiences with those Sprint "air 
cards"?)
