I've had a PB 170, 5300 and a 1400 is my latest. I liked the 170, however it stopped working some time ago when i lent it to a friend so he could write a paper for a class. Obviously he broke it somehow. The 5300 was nice, but it always seemed apt to breaking. The 1400, on the other hand, has been almost a dream machine. Extremely easy to upgrade- more so than any desktop Ive ever had. I think it only took me a hadful of minutes to change the processor in it.It lacks some of the more recent hardware I'd like it to have, but I have used it on the web and for email quite a bit. Explorer does a decent job, but I've been considering icab. All in all, I'll have to go with the 1400because of its sturdy design, ease of upgrading and reliability. Brian
