Did you try resetting the power manager? Remove the battery and disconnect the AC adapter for 5 min. Hold down Control, Command, Option, and Power keys for 10 secs. Hook it back up and give it a try. Just may solve the problem.

I've got a 520c that has trouble starting up. Nothing in the OS
or drive, just can't get a signal to start up from the start button on the
keyboard. This is intermittent. Is there any other way to start the machine
other than the start button on the keyboard?
