Most test require a Java Applet, it seems.
On broadbandreports.com I'm given the option
to determine my current JA version and it reports 1.1.8 or something.
My MRJ vs is 2+ and I can't find any other JA on my HD
or where to download such a thing.

No higher version of java was ever made for OS 9. A large number of Java applets require 1.3 or better, unfortunately, which leaves OS 9 out.

The MRJ version number does not correlate with the version of Java it supports, which is 1.1.8

There was a gigantic rewrite of Java between 1.1 and 1.3.
