My PowerBook 3400c's all came with a VGA adapter (Apple Part Number 922-2963) for connection to an external monitor. Brand-new Apple Presentation System packages can be picked up from eBay for very low bids.

My E-bay purchased Apple Presentation System came today. Unfortunately the video cable does not fit my 3400. I think they both have 15 pins, but the APS has two rows and the 3400 has three. Rats.

Do you think I'll be able to find an adapter?

Cliff:

Apple adapter (Part Number 590-0289-A), with two-row 15-pin (F) on one side and three-row 15-pin (M) on the other side, should do the job for you. <http://www.powerbookguy.com> lists an "Apple VGA External Video Adapter for PowerBooks" under Accessories for PowerBook 3400c for $9.95, but without an Apple Part Number.

In any case, you may wish to give Dan, the PowerBookGuy, a call at (415)386-0200 to make sure that it is the right adapter. Some of his stuff are pricey, but he is a nice guy.
