Ouch! I just grabbed my (sleeping?!?!) 1400 to check the benchmarking results of a Viper 340mb PC card drive . . .
Wow, the whole base is burning hot! It's been sleeping (?) for at least a week hooked to a PS. The battery isn't very hot, but the heatsink is waaay too hot to touch, it's scorching hot!! I didn't notice if the sleep light was on prior to opening the lid, but I'm thinking it wasn't. I'm sure it didn't help whatever happened that it was inside a stack of other 'Books. I'm thinking I had a similar problem before, but can't recall now if it was with this processor or with a 183. Anyone have any insights? dan k ................................. http://macdan.n3.net/ carracho://dankephoto.dhs.org:9700 hotline://dankephoto.dhs.org:9500 ................................. -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
