Yes, if you leave the keyboard off, it might fit. But what do you want to do
with a 'Book whithout a keyboard (or with a loosely attached one)?
Flashing works, we already sorted this out (I only did it the PC way, but a
Mac upgrading may work as well).
What really makes me wonder is the wiring question. I didn't try if the
Orinoco card works inside the iBook (as I was just checking the physical
dimensions).
How can it be that putting the PC card in an Airport slot works, but the
opposite way doesn't? That doesn't sound logical. If you exchange some pin
assignments, it should destroy both kinds of connections. So why does one
way work while the other doesn't? Just curious.
