15 mgs, as I recall.

That might be how much RAM your install of OS 9 uses _after_ installation and with VM turned on, but it's not the system requirement.


OS 9 won't install on anything less than 32MB of REAL RAM with VM set to 40MB. It enjoys more RAM than that. 48MB is probably a bare minimum (if you don't want to run any apps).

Unless you've got at least 48MB of RAM and an overriding need to run OS 9, I wouldn't waste the CPU cycles (and slow-as-molasses memory pages to disk) with that OS on anything less than a 3400c. 8.6 will do must of what you need in 9.x (especially since it can run CarbonLib 1.6) without quite as much pain.
