Hi Drew, um, just to be clear, __can__ I run Airport on the Lombard? I'm quite happy to do so, but only have OS 9. I have the SW, it just says 'no card installed'.
The Lombard will plug along with AirPort quite decently. AirPort is fully supported on the Lombard. You wireless cards, on the other hand, are NOT supported by AirPort. The Dell TrueMobile 1150 is a clone of the ORiNOCO/WaveLAN card, but it has a different (for lack of a better word) identifier to your PowerBook. AirPort expects only certain card identities, so it will not work with your TrueMobile.
Get a genuine WaveLAN or ORiNOCO card, and it will work fine with AirPort. I use that setup (WaveLAN & ORiNOCO cards) on 2 PowerBooks G3 (Wallstreet) and 2 PowerBooks 3400c with no problem.
