I think OS 7.5 has this built in. To verify, try this: -Open the SimpleText program -Type some English text -From the Sound menu, choose "Speak All"
If that works, you can put any text you find into a SimpleText document and have it read by the computer. Maximum file size is 32k, which is enough for about half an hour of reading.

That said, I warmly advise you to read to your baby yourself. The main effect is not from the reading, but from the comforting tone and the familiarity of your own voice...
