Hi all
update i now have glod on the 3400 it has been plugged in for 5 hrs and now shows glod but thats it so far, I will keep updating but any more ideas are welcome.

did you exhange the PRAM battery ? It is located on the small panel above the keyboard. Those battery is rechargable ( when not dead) It can also help to leave the 3400 for two days plugged in. So the PRAM battery can recharge.
