Hello,
The screen is now washed out -- I can just barely see enough on the screen to see the motherboard is working, but I can't really read it, or manipulate it.
It may be as simple as the button doesn't work anymore. Try using the control panel, I think it can control the brightness too.
But I can't see the control panel. Are there keyboard accelerators? Where might I find them? I have downloaded the user manual, and can't find any help there.
You could try a PRAM zap. If that doesn't do it, try disconnecting AC power, the main battery and PRAM battery.
