I sympathize on the 1400 having one myself. Nice machine and still highly
useful I would just like to play DVDs for my studies. So am looking to move
up to a Pismo.
IIRC, there was just a thread here a week or two ago that indicated you can
hack a DVD player into the CD-ROM casing on a 1400 and make it work (or
maybe it was a 3400, not a 1400). Am I remembering that correctly? If so,
that might be a cheaper and easier way to get to the same end result.
