What exactly does "a valid, tornadic condition" mean?
It means something VERY bad is about to happen, and precautions need
to be taken immediately.

That is still not explaining the term.
Whatever the " Invalid Node Structure" was or what caused it
installing a new OS seems to be the " precaution " that solved the
problem. The machine has run for a year with no problem.
