Here in the Chicago area I used to commute into the Downtown area (The
Loop to us natives) and always wondered why the trains, as new as they
are, aren't equipped with power outlets--either 12v or 110v ones--would be
easy to do with all the potential power the diesel locomotive generates.
Off-roading: last week I had to send a quick email to someone regarding a
package I was sending to them. I pulled up in front of a Panera's Cafe
(here in Chicago all the Panera's are free Wifi connected), turned on my
PB and logged on and sent. (This is not stealing bandwidth--I went thru
their logon screen). I carry a 70watt DC-AC cigarette plug adapter in my
car so I can plug in my power adapter when I'm going to be using the 'book
for more than just a few minutes--I know we've had that discussion here in
the past: DC-to-AC-to-DC but it seems to work fine.
Side question: Does anyone know of an adapter for the cigarette plug
inverter for use on airplanes?
Later.................Howard
