I would like to get Verizon DSL (only real broadband option in my area). Is this compatible with my PB 540c? I would also like to get a wireless card (I already have the card cage). What ones work? How do I set all this up? They will send me a modem/wireless router and I am sure I can hook that part up. What do I do to my laptop?
You absolutely need the Rev.C version of the card cage, if that's not the one you have. I used my Proxim card in my 520c with no problems until I dropped the Rev.C and it stopped working. :)
If you have a router, get the AAUI adapter, plug it into the back of the 540, and run a cable to the router. Set AppleTalk to on, and TCP/IP to DHCP and you should be good to go. You won't be an internet speed demon, but it'll work. :)
