With an externial LaCie CD/rw, 8/8/24, the best I was ever able to record was 2 speed. That was with Toast Deluxe v4. This past weekend, I set up the PB1400 and a Wallstreet on a wireless network, and transferred about 2gb of files off the 1400 and then burned them on the Wallstreet using a VST 8/8/24 speed firewire burner. The file transfer took about an hour (while I did something else) and about 30 minutes to burn the files to three cd. This was faster than burning them on the 1400. You can find a 4 or 8 speed burner for very low cost on ebay. Ken Vann ------------------------------ ================================================== Old Mac's have new uses with WiFi.
