Greetings again. I just remembered something else I wanted to ask about. I tried to setup a patch cable ethernet connection (via a ethernet pc card) between my 2400c running OS 8.6 and my desktop Mac running OS X 10.4.2. I wanted a way to do quick file transfers. I am using Network Browser on PB and the Network window on OS X on my eMac. File sharing is "on" on both machines. I don't detect any firewall issues. I can see each computer come up on both machines, but when I try to connect I get a message on the eMac that the AP-something is not compatible. Is there a work-around or an alternative method to enable me to do file transfers between these two computers? Thanks!
Apple removed AFP/AT from Tiger. It only supports AFP/IP. Mac OS 8.6 does not natively support AFP/IP. To support AFP/IP on Mac OS 8.6, add a product like ShareWay http://www/opendoor.com/shareway/ See also http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301183 HTH, - Dan. -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
