Happy (Soon-To-Be) New Year to all!
I bought iLife4 for my daughter for Christmas which she installed on
her iMac 800MHz G4 with, apparently, no problem. I wanted to put
iMovie4 onto my considerably older, but still within System
Requirements specs, Ruby G3 400MHz iMac DV running OSX 10.2.8.
I put the Install CD into the slot and double-clicked the "Install"
icon. The basic install info screen mounted and then was overwritten
with a message saying, in effect, that installation could not proceed
because one or more of the following applications were running: iMovie,
iTunes or iPhoto, and I should quit them then try again. None of those
apps WERE running. I restarted the computer and tried again. Same
message. Restarted again and tried again. Same message. Restarted again
and tried again. Still, same message. I even tried installing from the
Install DVD (I have a peripheral DVD-ROM drive hooked up) but got the
same message (plus mentioning iDVD.)
Any clue...?
