Location: Taylor Texas Rate: 45/hr (could be a littler higher if the candidate is a super star and has the ability to close the deal) Duration: 6-12 months Must have GoldenGate Key Skill sets: RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, ASM, GoldenGate Summary of Responsibilities: Installs, maintains, monitors, and optimizes production and non-production databases (Oracle). Installs, maintains, monitors, and optimizes GoldenGate TDM, GoldenGate Veridata, and GoldenGate Director to support "near-real-time" data replication. Essential Job Function: Perform database monitoring, tuning, &capacity planning Perform backup/recovery Optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost Manages allocated disk space usage and memory allocations for database management systems Manages schema changes and implementations Administers database security Performs housekeeping on defunct user accounts and historical data Install and maintain database products, including patch application and upgrade of environments Troubleshoots and develops solutions for problems related to database and interfaces Coordinates with software vendor technical support Develops and executes back-up and recovery procedures Performs periodic testing of the database backup and recovery plan Works closely with application and system administration and vendors to coordinate activities, resolve development and maintenance issues, and perform application tuning Audits user activity to ensure integrity and performance of the database Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for database administration Coordinates and implement changes to development, test, and production environments Implements and maintains multiple database environments, including logical/physical design and modeling Develops and maintains proficient database development and design skills Performs GoldenGate replication monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning Performs backup and recovery of GoldenGate replication Administers GoldenGate replication security Install and maintain GoldenGate products, including patch application and upgrade of the environments Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for GoldenGate replication administration Performs other duties as assigned Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible information technology work experience with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.
