Dear Scary Larry and others, Here's a slick alternative I stumbled onto. I just purchased and installed 4-128Mb DIMMS from oempcworld.com at an unbelievably low price. They're as close as you can get to original "issue" for the PTP 225's. I just went from 256 Mb of RAM to 768 Mb's from just a little over $160.00. I used their USPS Express delivery option on Saturday (30th), and the mailman brought it to my door before lunch yesterday (Tues.) So far so good, and what a performance boost it's been. I'm running OS 9.1 with two hard drives, a spiffy SCSI card, a monster graphics card, but no G3 or G4 enhancement [of course].
I'm a graphic designer running Quark 4.+; Illustrator 8 & 9 and Photoshop 6. I can't tell you how awesome it feels to dial in 250Mbs of RAM for Photoshop and 100-150 in the others. I'm drunk with power and speed and have probably warded off buying a new system for at least a year as a result. Here's the link to the page I bought from. regards, Xmarks the spot http://www.oempcworld.com/category.html;$sessionid$3Q1Q1SYAAABONTZENUGXBMWPERWRJPX0?UCIDs=1040756 -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
