Yeah, I had tried both Toast and Retrospect. Same result. The valuable aspect about the DVD-RAM drive is that it is also Drag-n-Drop, so each filled/partially filled cd-like disk is a portable 4.7 or 9.4 gig hard drive. Anyway, it shouldn't require burner software although it is supposed to work that way too. I want and need drag-n-drop capability. > I assume you are running 9.1 from your signature. The other two G4's that the unit worked fine on were running 9.2 on the main bus. I'm not quite ready to go to X yet as I need another larger hard drive. Even then, I would still like to get this thing operating under the 9x environment. I wonder if maybe there could be something in 9.2 that 9.1 doesn't provide? Not likely however. X may be another option that I can explore in the near future but I need to get it working in 9x even if I have to buy a new card. (Once I find a card that will work). So thanks for the idea, I'll add it to the soup.
