I would hate to invest in a hard drive that wasn't new. They do have a limited life, and you are entrusting your most precious digital stuff to it (unless you scrupulously backup your vital data constantly).

Never dealt with them, but Piranha Technology < http://www.piranhatech.com > (an advertiser in MacAddict) sells a variety of SCSI (and IDE, etc.) drives. Better Business Bureau < http://www.bbb.org > gives them a satisfactory rating. Here are the SCSI HDs (guess you could consult with them on the need for converters for 68-pin or 80-pin for use with a 50-pin SCSI ribbon. http://www.piranhatech.com/products/groupproducts.asp?catid=1008&subcatid=20 34 Couldn't immediately access the Other World Computing site < www.macsales.com/ > but it's worth checking out. Of course, innumerable HDs are sold via eBay. I don't mind buying a CD drive or RAM or monitor or whatever used. But again, that hard drive is your digital soul. Be careful, unless you back up regularly. -- Chuck -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
