since it's so quiet here, thought i'd share recent success.
i know that some powercomputing users have suffered intermittent frozen
cursor problems as I have. I think I recently solved the problem.
usually the problem appears at startup and everything else seems to be
working, but the cursor-mouse will not operate.
past solutions have been deleting the keyboard prefs and then restart,
sometimes works first time, other times it requires several attempts to get
a moving cursor.
about 2 months ago, I switched from the old powercomputing keyboard to a
spare apple keyboard II that I had here. while using this keyboard I have
not had a frozen cursor once.
I later tried a macally extended keyboard and the problem reappeared.
we have several powercomputing machines here. the powerwaves have this
intermittent problem. sometimes it won't do it for a few weeks, then it does
it frequently for a while.
since i've been using this apple keyboard, no problems at all.
makes me think that the powerwaves don't really like the extended keyboards?
any comments from the masters on this problem/solution?

thanks,
wayne
